As the circumstances and recommendations around COVID-19 rapidly evolve we have implemented a number of in-store changes and protocols to help ensure the best possible health for our customers and staff. The actions listed in the following overview are in effect immediately, and we will update this section as necessary as the situation progresses, so please check back here regularly.
Special Shopping Hour:
For the time being we are open regular hours at both stores as this allows customers to space shopping trips out throughout a longer period of time to help minimize crowding. We are reserving our first opening hour (8am - 9am in Port Coquitlam / 8:30am-9:30am in Nanaimo) every morning for the elderly or vulnerable to do their shopping. We will not be turning anyone away but hope that you honour this window of time if you are able.⠀
Our stores are being sanitized continuously throughout the day at an increased rate, with special attention being paid to surfaces frequently touched by staff and customers. Checkout pin pads and counters, and shopping carts and baskets will be sanitized between each customer use.
We have refreshed staff training on effective hand washing procedures, and are requiring regular hand washing and sanitizing throughout shifts at an increased rate. We have confirmed that if any staff develop symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, sore throat or respiratory distress they should not be at work or on the premises, and that if any staff have family members who test positive for COVID-19 or if any staff come into contact with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 they should not be at work or on the premises.
We so appreciate your patience, support, and cooperation during this uncertain time. We kindly ask that customers with any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, sore throat or respiratory distress refrain from entering the store. For customer and staff safety, anyone exhibiting these symptoms will be politely asked to leave.
We ask that you only touch or pick up products you intend to purchase, and maintain a 2 metre distance from other customers and staff in our aisles. Please leave all baskets and shopping carts at the front of or outside the store so that we may sanitize them for the next customer.
Other changes around our stores:
Please note that until further notice we will no longer be able to offer bulk products or kombucha on tap. We will resume bulk and zero-waste shopping as soon as possible. In the meantime we will be receiving individual pre-filled packages of our bulk products from our suppliers.
Our self serve salad bar and hot bar at Pomme PoCo will be shut until further notice—please check our full service deli counter as some of your favourite items may be found there.
We are not accepting bottle returns and are not able to accept product returns or exchanges at this time. Please keep your receipts as we will be accepting returns and exchanges again in the future.
We are allowing the use of reusable bags again in our stores but for the safety of our customers and staff, we kindly ask that you please pack your own groceries when using a reusable bag.
